The name of the genus Salvia was derived from the Latin “salvere” to be saved, in reference to its traditional use in early civilizations and cultures to successfully combat illness, disease, heal wounds and clear the head. Today Sage is incorporated into wellness practices for the same reasons: To bolster against infection, refresh our state of mind, and purify our surroundings. It’s chemical composition is rich in Ketones and supported Monoterpenes and Oxides. Hydrosols are the aromatic remains after the steam-distillation process occurs. They are an excellent complement to Essential Oils because they are gentle enough to be used directly on the skin and are safe enough to use on children and pets and often used in creating body products, room sprays and linen mists. They are also popular for use in other herbal preparations.
